And The Ponzis Will Die As One . . .

Dear Readers,

Two days ago we received a note from a woman who identified herself as a member of AdViewGlobal (AVG). The note was intended for publication, but we declined to publish it.

The woman described herself as angry about developments at the surf. We would have published the note, except for one thing: The woman included two URLs, along with an appeal for readers to click on PTC  ads on her website.

So, in one breath, she was condemning AVG. In the next, she was encouraging people to engage in click fraud so she could earn a fee. There was virtually no editorial content on the site.

Bids to commit click fraud were an element of the ASD case, of course. Despite all that has happened, some people continue to show annoyance that their favorite surf or surfs aren’t paying, and yet try to line their own pockets with fraudulent fees.

Screent shot of pitch last year for ASD members to commit click fraud.

Reduced screen shot of pitch last year for ASD members to commit click fraud.

It’s hard to imagine that anyone actually joined AVG, given the events at ASD. But it’s even harder to imagine that a person bitter about suspended AVG payouts then would arrive at the conclusion that she could make up for lost money by taking money out of the pockets of PTC advertisers.

And, speaking of the word “imagine,” we offer this — with our apologies to the late John Lennon.

Imagine there’s no Surfing
It’s easy if you try
No Ponzi below you
Nothing above you to deny
Imagine all the Surfers
Saying no to pay to play

Imagine there’s no Cashouts
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to shill or ply for
And no soiled commissions too
Imagine all the Surfers
Saying no to clicking for a fee

You may say that he’s a schemer
But he’s not the only one
He hopes someday you’ll join him
And the Ponzis will be as one

Imagine no rebate schemes
I wonder if you can
No appeals to greed or hunger
A brotherhood of anti-scam
Imagine all the Surfers
Respecting the nobility of the working man

You may say that he’s a schemer
But he’s not the only one
He knows now you won’t join him
And the Ponzis will die as one

It’s hard to imagine anyone joining AVG after ASD if you assume that they are generally law abiding, have the intelligence greater than a slug, and have a bit of moral fibre.

Those who did join and invest must have known exactly what they were dealing with and either were to think to realise it was an obvious ponzi scheme, or simply did not care.

For some people, it is all about the money. Getting money for nothing and chicks for free. Sadly there are those who are happy to profit from this system – ponzi friendly payment processors, web hosts, promoters etc. It looks like the future is looking gradually harder for these people. I read recently that the Secret Service has set up an operation/office to further cooperation with the IRS, FBI and other services.

Yoko should kick your ass for John. At least make the words fit the melody. Hey wait a minute isn’t this plagiarism? She could sue you but then she would know that only a few PP heads would see it so no matter. I don’t know her but I know someone who does, maybe I should tell them to tell her. Just think, you could have more fame than you’ll ever be likely to get if she even bothers to look. I doubt she would because your not really anyone and it would be the equivalent to picking on a garage band.

  4. ‘joe,’ plagiarism? You’ve got to be kidding. I suggest you look it up before showing your ignorance. Opps, too late. But I love the name dropping. Hope you didn’t think that would impress us. Tell your friend who knows Yoko to tell her I said “Hi!” Also ask her when she is coming back for a visit. See, I can play that game too.

Still an idiot I see. How would me knowing someone who knows Yoko be so impressive? I wasn’t even thinking of it that way. I love this part “Tell your friend who knows Yoko to tell her I said “Hi!”Also ask her when she is coming back for a visit.See, I can play that game too.” What a great comeback, did you think of that yourself? I told you I didn’t know her jackass.

well you obviously don’t know anything about music copyright, thats clearly based on Imagine in fact he even used the title so before you show your ignorance “oops too late” see I can play that game too.

You’re also showing some idiocy by even taking all of that serious, I was joking as anyone should have been able to tell. Even if I knew Yoko do you actually think I would embarrass myself by pointing it out to her? If it was used to make money she would see it on her own but it’s so petty on this little blog and out of context, it doesn’t matter. By the way, if it were used to make money would it then be counted as plagiarism? Oh yeah.

It’s not in the least but you felt it was or you wouldn’t have made it up. Your need to make believe you are somehow in the know is adorable. School will be starting soon….perhaps your teachers will appreciate it.

First you think I’m still in school which means I’m a kid and then you use the word adorable about me, is there something about you we should know? Yeah and with a name like WHIP no less.

There is a major difference between plagiarism and music copyright, so as suggested go back and read the definition of plagiarism again and you just might learn the difference; but again I seriously doubt it. By the way, since Patrick gave credit to John, it is not even music copyright infringement. Now if he had made a music video, it might be a totally different situation. You really are slow aren’t you. Next time put your brain in gear before your mouth in motion.

  12. CORRECTION: Tell you what. Since you do not believe any of us here that AVG is a Ponzi and illegal, here’s one sure fire way to find out.

Go to your bank and tell them you want to take out a small business loan. Doesn’t have to be a huge sum, as you only want to expand your business. You do have a business besides AVG don’t you? For if you don’t this won’t work. They will give you the forms to fill out. They will want a business plan, including your marketing strategies, and your financial statements to show you can repay the loan.

In this business plan, you tell them about AVG’s great marketing program of how you can advertise your business on AVG; and you will have two sources of revenue streams. One from all that increased business you will receive from AVG’s superior advertising results (37% conversion ratio unless your ad sucks), and they will pay you back 25% more than you spent advertising; thus it is a double win-win for you and the bank. You might have to explain why AVG is not paying anyone right now, and all their internal problems of keeping a staff, stealing of money, mods taking advantage of the “button,” all those little minor details; but I’m sure the bank will understand as all businesses have these problems when they start-up. You might also throw in how this is the same as the stock market and the winners and losers thing you believe. I’m sure the loan officer will agree with you on these points.

Now after doing all this, come back and tell everyone what the bank said. After all this should be an instant loan once they see the brilliance of AVG. Good luck.

Actually copyright infringement is the word I meant to use when I made my original joke about plagiarism concerning the Imagine takeoff. so ok if you want to take an accidental word misusage and beat it to death because thats all you’ve got then go ahead, it’s kinda like the constant reuse of “if it doesn’t suck” but then thats the kind of whimps you are. By the way, this doesn’t have any effect on you being an idiot. Remember, I have credibility now because Pat Dunn said so.

Well I started thinking about this a googled plagiarism george harrison and here it is…This case found the late George Harrison liable for copyright infringement; given Harrison’s popularity as one of the Beatles, it is probably the most commonly known music plagiarism dispute. The court’s tone is almost apologetic in determining that Harrison’s use of the melodic kernels of plaintiff’s universally popular number, in the same order and repetitive sequence and set to “identical harmonies,” compelled it to conclude that Harrison unconsciously misappropriated the musical essence of “He’s So Fine.” Music Plagiarism so I wasn’t wrong copyright infringement might be the legal term though but so is music plagiarism

Here, just a little more for you……..Musical plagiarism – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Music plagiarism is the use or close imitation of another author’s music while … Plagiarism in music now occurs in two contexts – with a musical idea …and from Lindyboy “There is a major difference between plagiarism and music copyright, so as suggested go back and read the definition of plagiarism again and you just might learn the difference; but again I seriously doubt it.” Oh my goodness! Well that article was interesting but Madoff was in the US, big difference. ADV is here to stay baby amd we’re making bank. I heard some figure about the last 84% will lose and I would love to know where these formulas come from. You put money in ADV you make the % as everyone else immediately. I’ve heard all kind of BS formulas on here and they don’t work. Also Madoff did it for years and for one hell of a lot more money. He was clearly ripping everyone off, even the first people in so there goes any theory. ADV is also bringing in outside money with the Gold site and the texting site which i haven’t looked at yet so I don’t really know how it works but you can find out by going to http://ad-venttures4u.com it’s the first ad that comes up but you probably know that because a lot of you are probably members already. when those make money it’s going in to ADV then I guess that will make everyone happy but then again probably not because then you be able to bad mouth it as easy.

There IS no way for you to debunk it because it is paying that to everyone period, no matter when you come in. when you have your 2000 your done. if you want to stay in then you take 50% of your earnings and your ventures which is the same as page impressions, stays the same. If you take anything over 50% then your ventures dwindle. to tell the truth I don’t know the rate they decline because I havn’t taken more than that but you can go to the site and it will tell you how it works. Hey, when you sign up do it under me huh? You know what, I would love to know the number PP supporters who are in there and i know there are some. The money is great and no one but no one is losing anything. In other words if these people want to sit and bash then I have to believe they have done their research other wise they are full of sh”t. If you have researched then they can see it’s a great way to make money and have probably joined.

  33. Thx joe,

Is this a straight 2:1 pyramid, or does the promoter of ADV get a cut as well (like Bowdoin’s 50%)? I ran the 50% scenario. I know you’ll be shocked, by ADV is about out of steam if the founder gets his 50%. If he gets less, it could hang on a while longer, but it won’t matter.

OF COURSE it is still paying. All pyramid models pay until they blow up, otherwise they don’t even get started……join under you? No. 1) It’s still illegal, and unsustainable. I prefer to make my living legally. 2) Were I criminally inclined like you, it’s too late to join ADV. You’re on record as saying you don’t care if the programs you promote and sign into are illegal, so I suppose this is just another one…

Come up with a legal, sustainable biz model that pays like ADV and I’ll still sign up under you….

Well, i don’t know where you come up with that but all i can say is it’s been here since December and still going as strong as ever with no sign of slowing which is what normally happens when they are about out of steam so I think you are wrong there and i would bet you will see this around for a long time to come. Ok, answer for the completely clueless, they are up grading the scripts on the site. Why, because membership is growing so fast they needed to upgrade. the payrun is being done tonight but you don’t know that because you are not in. You just make your dumbass statements because momentarily they are upgrading and while the website is up and running and money is coming in, they don’t have everything available yet. I’ll tell you what it will be up this week and if it’s not I’ll tell you how brilliant you are. Or we can make a wager, yeah that’s even better. wanna bet? wanna put your money where your halfwitted mouth is? I’m serious, keep talkin and let’s bet. You should be jumping at the chance because you got it all together and know what’s going on so come on.

  38. Ad-Ventures4U Will be gone by September 1st, 2010.

By that date either the sheer weight of the ponzi math will have collapsed it or a governmental agency will have stepped in to avoid others being sucked into the scheme.

There is an outside chance that it might still be alive, paying out less than .1% a month (to clarify, that’s 1.2% a YEAR).

Point being the program will be dead for all practical purposes. The high probability scenario is a collapse of “revenue share” rates and mass exodus of the members.

The next probable outcome is criminal charges against the owner and big promoters and the final option is the mathematically required reduction in revenue share payouts to amounts so miniscule that it’s not worth the time to “Surf”.

That is the way I see it, guaranteed, as recorded this day, Sunday, August 9th, the Year of Our Lord, 2009.

A small amount of research shows that “Steven R Smith” uses the email addresses “srstls2007@yahoo.com” and “steveraysmith@hotmail.com” and possibly others. Those two addresses appear on several copies of a paypal chain letter. So not only was this person circulating a paypal chain letter, he was trying to profit from it by putting his email addresses there at least twice.

ADV is using an off-the-shelf script from a company – the script costs $195. At least that is what the “Powered By” message at the bottom of the ADV web site indicates. The domain itself was provided by “VENTRINO SOFTWARE LLC”, the company behind the script.

This is a typical, run-of-the-mill ponzi scheme. No different from may others that have failed in the past. No different from many of the others that have been promoted by the likes of Faith Sloan, Ken Russo, Team AaronShara. It will fail just like the others.

Server problems, new script, can’t handle the “explosive” growth, overwhelmed by the number of signups; yet we are supposed to believe this is a real company that will last forever. Guess it is being run by the same type of “Professionals” that ASD, AVG, BAS, and AGW were using. One thing is for sure, these “Professionals” seem to be a dime a dozen. Worth about as much too.

At least the owner is not claiming to make 100,000 Millionaires (well at least not yet), but otherwise it is the same script, same storyline, and will be the same end results. I especially like where they state if you join at the $10,000 level, you don’t even have to surf to get paid; but they are legal.

Interesting, but I could not find all those ads from all those companies (read outside revenue streams) on the website. Looked high and low, and none to be found.

Also wonder in what century he will get his gold program running. He doesn’t even know as he cannot put a date on his “coming soon” mantra. But this is a legal company.

Steve R. Smith has already been involved in sereral dubious programmes, including the “Oprah Paypal scam”. He doesn’t seem to be tax registered either for AV4U, or licensed this gold business that he keeps talking about. If you think that anyone can start to deal and smelt precious metals on a commercial basis without a LOT of paperwork, you are sorely mistaken.

I’ve looked at this one in some detail. It talks well, but has the same basic illegal unsustainable model as all other autosurs, and judging by its present popularity, is coming close to implosion time. (Unless the Government beats them to it)

Apart from clawbacks from the AV4U scheme, should the governmetn intervene, ex ASD members need to remember that membership of yet another autosurf will probably disqualify them from receiving anything back from the Government from the ASD pot too.

Russian hackers? Ex-employee ripped them off? Death/illness in the family? Server crashed and they have to “recreate” the books because no backup exists? They paid out too much and are “conducting an audit”? Fire? Steve is stranded in space on the International Space Station and they need funds to pay for his return trip?

They’ve only delayed payments once for a few days but the writing is on the wall in capital letters.

You say they aren’t protected, well I don’t know but so far it looks like they are. Remember ASD, Madoff, American soil. ADV is not. You say judging from present popularity it’s about to implode? How is that? If membership was stagnant or stopping you would say the same thing. which is it? Growing membership means continuing prosperity especially in these illegal ponzis, that’s the nature of the beast. You can’t have it both ways. I put this out there to illustrate a point. Even a program that is kicking ass is having problems according to everyone here and yes Pat Dunn it is paying 7% a week or 14 if you cash out 100%. this is not in theory it is paying that period. how about:

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced that it obtained orders imposing more than US$2.9 mln in sanctions against Foreign Fund and some other defendants, including two individuals and a Tennessee Corporation, for violations of the anti-fraud provisions of the Commodity Exchange Act. The CFTC action alleged that Foreign Fund, which was an Internet entity operating exclusively from a website in Ukraine and maintaining bank accounts in Nashville, Tennessee (U.S.), defrauded thousands of customers worldwide out of more than US$3 mln, by offering illegal off-exchange futures contracts

And, don’t think having “offshore” status while operating from within the USA is any protection, either:

On March 25, 2009, the Commission filed an emergency action in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas to halt an on-going $68 million Ponzi scheme involving the sale of bogus certificates of deposit (“CDs”).

The Commission’s complaint alleges that Defendants William J. Wise, 58, of Raleigh, North Carolina and the Caribbean, and Kristi M. Hoegel, 34, of Napa, California, orchestrated the scheme through companies they control, including co-defendants Millennium Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, its Geneva, Switzerland-based parent, United Trust of Switzerland S.A., and its U.S.-based affiliates, UT of S, LLC and Millennium Financial Group.

He may have background and experience, but it looks as if it is not in the gold business that he is now in. More like get rich quick schemes on the internet.

ASD was rather folksy. AV4U has always seemed very “homemade” but the addition of the fold sitge in its existing form has taken amateurs night out to a new level of incredulity

(Unless the Government beats them to it)Apart from clawbacks from the AV4U scheme, should the governmetn intervene, ex ASD members need to remember that membership of yet another autosurf will probably disqualify them from receiving anything back from the Government from theASD pot too.

You say they aren’t protected, well I don’t know but so far it looks like they are. Remember ASD, Madoff, American soil.ADV is not. I know, I’m there but don’t take my word for it ask anyone in it.

He’s registered in Panama (allegedly) but you need to send your checks to Missouri? Pray tell, how does that figure?

And both he and his partner have several other get rich sites as I posted. When you follow the links on those sites, you wind up in a morass of other get rich schemes, many of which are run by serial scammers. Very nice company he keeps.

It might be paying now but I doubt it’s going to last very long. Either it implodes on its own or the authorities will squash it….the sooner the better.

Even if you are registered offshore (which I doubt), you have to actively take steps to exclude American citizens or the Feds may decide to take you down. As posted, it’s happened more than once.

  65. Thx Tony,

I do not take referral fees into account. It’s not all that hard to do, but it is perhaps hard enough to follow the details in the analysis. Plainly, the referral fees make things worse, assuming that the referral fees come out of the pool of funds that are returns to the members, as opposed to out of the owner’s pocket. Even if they do come out of the owner’s pocket (and who knows — they never submit themselves willingly to a legitimate audit), the math is identical to the case where the owner keeps 50% (in the ASD/AVG variants). Further, referral fees go to the earlier members, not the last people to join (aka the losers).

Tony H: Entertained, it appears that the operators of ADV claim to take 25% of revenue, and 10% of “other income”. Of course, we have only their word that this is what they take, the actual percentage could be anything.Entertained, I haven’t read your mathematical analysis of ASD, do you take into account of referral fees? This obvious ponzi scheme has 15% referral commission. This obvious ponzi scheme could be in trouble already – there are claims that the cash out button has gone missing. Somewhat difficult to profit from an illegal ponzi scheme if you can’t get at the investment. Of course, this could be just a problem with the new site – yes, some of us have heard that excuse before. But don’t worry, “the new site will be awesome!!” Yes, that sounds familiar as well.joe, is TeamAaronShara your up/downline?

Government going after off shore companies? You’re right, never happens…well, except E-Gold, and Stanford, BLake Prater and Wellspring, a couple of the offshore gambling companies (whose business was actually legal in the countries they operate from, their only crime was not preventing US persons from playing), and a quick google search comes up with 7 million hits. Yep, never happens.

Wow lots of excitement going on there, I know I sure made some money this week and it didn’t come because anybody else lost it. I sure am happy I made you all more aware of this one. Some of you knew but nothing was being posted. Why don’t you talk about how this failure is paying. It’s really kind of ludicrous for me to say anything because it doesn’t matter how good any of them are and especially one thats doing great, you’ll never admit it. It’s only going to get bigger and better. Three cheers for AD-Ventures4U.

You want to know whats really funny? You guys are so easy. You really can’t tell that 99% of the reason that I even come here is for my own entertainment and most of the things I say are to piss people off and get a reaction for my own entertainment and it has worked. Hey, all of these surf/revenue shares have a shelf life and they will end when they end and you all have no effect but thats ok keep believing. You might as well celebrate that you finally got that blistering hot sun to go away. YAY we did it! Well until tommorrow. No, nature took it’s course just as it will with all of these programs and when it does it will be like a real surfer in the ocean. You catch a great wave and have a hell of a ride and then it’s done. You guys would be like some guy standing and watching on the beach and saying I told you it would end when the surfer got done as if he caused the wave to dissipate by hoping. The surfer would be grinning because he had a hell of a ride and guess what, he’s headed back out to catch the next one. I probably have gone a little far sometimes in my pursuit of fun and been a little insulting but I’ve taken my share too so it all works out. You have to remember there’s only me and all of you. well, occasionally Correction but otherwise only me. I didn’t post for a few days recently and thats because I wasn’t bored, I was kind of busy. Yes I’ve wondered why I do it when no one else does from any of these programs but I guess thats because they know it’s pointless just as much as what you’re doing is. You have zero effect, no more than I do when I post on here. The difference is, I know I have no effect, you don’t. I guess it’s like a little old ladies bridge club or an old guys shuffleboard club, you have fun getting together but at least they know they aren’t accomplishing anything other than entertainment, you don’t. It’s been fun baiting you but I think it’s time to move on because i’m just not as entertained as I was and it’s really dumb to continue if I don’t enjoy it. You won’t admit it but you’ll miss me because it’s fun for you to have a protagonist here. Well, never say never, I could put in a guest appearance in the future but it’s not in the plans for now. I will surf off in to the sunset now to the tune of the Beach Boys Surfin Usa. Bon Voyage

    Guess again.

BetOnSports was founded in the UK where sports betting and online gambling are legal. The company’s servers were located in Costa Rica.

Here’s the Wikipedia page for background on the company.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BetonSports

The mistake he made was to not exclude Americans as customers as online gambling is not legal in the US. He was arrested in the US in 2007 when transited the U.S. on his way from the UK to Costa Rica.

He’s now pleaded guilty and will most likely spend time in a US prison.

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/08/15/betting.plea/index.html

“WASHINGTON (CNN) — The man who founded and ran the online sports gambling operation BetOnSports pleaded guilty and agreed to forfeit more than $43 million in proceeds, prosecutors announced Friday.

Gary Kaplan, 50, entered a guilty plea to conspiracy and violating wagering laws in federal court in St. Louis, Missouri, authorities said. Justice Department officials said Kaplan last week had wired the entire forfeited amount from his Swiss bank account to the court.”

  89. On second thought ..some of you idiots DO deserve a reply! First of all Ad-ventures4u..auto-surf??? Now you’re really showing your ignorance aside from the fact that many of you can’t even spell what you’re writing about. A few of you HAVE to be or have been adv members because you know a few things that only members could have known. There was a member in the adv chat room several days ago that was all bent out of shape because he / she can’t take all “it’s” money out in a lump sum. How are you going to make money in revenue sharing that way? Perhaps “it” saw an ad for another revenue sharing program that allows members to “hit and run” making a measly ten bucks or so then get out. Just how long will ANY revenue sharing program last like that? I’ve seen several programs trying to compete with adv by saying in ads ” no 50% rule “, ” no hit and run clause”, etc. Think about it. If every depositor at any of the biggest banks on Earth, which will pay maybe 2% per YEAR suddenly went to their bank and withdrew every dime of their money do you think that bank would stay in business? NO. NO , NO because they invest that money to earn more for themselves and return MUCH less than adv. Many of the other revenue sharing programs have almost identical TOS rules as adv. In fact I saw one that was IDENTICAL (obviously this moron couldn’t come up with his own so he ” copied and pasted” adv4u). “PatrickPretty” hmm.. Patrick is a male name…wonder if it’s a fag???’….”Pretty?” By the way ,I’m also wondering why only adv is accused here? Could it be that some of you badmouthing adv are owners of the competing programs or at least have a high vested interest in them? They are all basically the same except that adv has upwards of 56,000 members where as the competitors have a few hundred to a few thousand. Maybe the membership numbers speak for the integrity of the programs. I had a thriving offline business for 26 and a half years and not once did I resort to ” badmouthing” my competitors to gain business. That’s as unprofessional as it gets people. If you don’t agree with adv policies then simply DON’T join. If you already have and you’re so sure you’re going to lose your whole ten or twenty dollars you’ve probably invested then you CAN cash out 100% of your weekly earnings until you have your lunch money back. I have more than lunch money there myself and am not losing sleep over it, much less badmouthing someone else over it. If I find it was a mistake..big deal..I’ll learn from it and move on. There are always people in the world who have nothing better to do than shoot off their big mouths when they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about. Eddie W Gillespie: In fact I saw one that was IDENTICAL (obviously this moron couldn’t come up with his own so he ” copied and pasted” adv4u). “PatrickPretty” hmm.. Patrick is a male name…wonder if it’s a fag???’

Eddie W Gillespie: I had a thriving offline business for 26 and a half years and not once did I resort to ” badmouthing” my competitors to gain business.

Eddie W Gillespie: I have more than lunch money there myself and am not losing sleep over it, much less badmouthing someone else over it. If I find it was a mistake..big deal..I’ll learn from it and move on. There are always people in the world who have nothing better to do than shoot off their big mouths when they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about. I’m out of here. You bunch of idiots make me sick!!!

    Patrick

    “Pretty” Patrick….This doesn’t deserve a reply either!!!!!!

AdSurf Daily was online for 2 years, Bernard Madoff lasted for 30+ years, P.I.P.S. lasted a couple of years, CEP similarly and 12Daily Pro was online and “still paying” for 18 months,

And your point is what exactly ????

Are you implying it’s some sort of American legal “thing” ????

If you can last more than 12 months you get to pass “GO” and collect $200.

Since you’re the smart guy, I’ll let you figure it out.

But here’s a hint for you. Bernie Madoff was running a Ponzi for decades. He pleaded guilty and is now serving his time. His scheme was reported to the SEC for over a decade. The SEC even opened an investigation a few years ago and found nothing. Half of Wall Street knew he was dirty and would have nothing to do with his operation. All their Berkeley math PhD’s couldn’t figure out how he made his stated returns month after month after month. The result has been in the headlines for almost a year.
