Something Going On At Surf’s Up?

UPDATED 8:13 P.M. EDT (U.S.A.) An inquiry about AdViewGlobal (AVG) at the Pro-AdSurfDaily Surf’s Up forum has not been answered for hours by the moderator to which it was directed or any Mod.

The Mods appear either to have been away from the forum for virtually the entire U.S. East Coast business day or simply made the choice not to moderate.

At the time of this update, more than eight hours have passed since the AVG inquiry was made. Update 6:45 P.M: After nine hours, the post referencing AVG at the Surf’s Up forum was deleted. Here is a screen shot taken prior to the deletion. The shot was reduced in size to fit into this space:

Meanwhile, a post highly critical of ASD President Andy Bowdoin has been permitted to stand. Update: 6:45 P.M: The critical post from “adam” has been deleted, along with a second critical post by another Surf’s Up member. Here is a screen shot of “adam’s” post prior to deletion. It has been reduced in size to fit into this space:

Update 7:14 P.M:. As noted above, the post from “adam” critical of Andy Bowdoin has been deleted. Left standing was a post critical of “adam” for being critical of Andy Bowdoin. Here is a screen shot:

At the same time, members’ inquiries on a forum some of the Surf’s Up Mods and members set up for AVG are not being answered. Update 8:13 P.M: It appears as though a Mod is answering inquiries now at the AVG forum.

AVG recently announced a 200 percent, matching-bonus offer. The site has transitioned to what it calls a “private association” that involves figures associated with ASD, including George Harris, Bowdoin’s stepson.

Why the Mods appear to have been away so long is unclear.

  1. Patrick,

The post regarding AVG was very interesting. In spite of all of the press on ASD and the overwhelming evidence that AVG is just another run-of-the-mill Ponzi in the ASD mold (basically even identical to ASD), there are still people who are eager to either flush their money down the toilet (well, at least send it into the hands of the AVG founders) or to blantantly commit a crime of their own and take advantage of others……given where AVG is at at the moment, it could be both.

  2. Patrick:

Maybe they have finally realized they may be self-incriminating themselves if they do?

I have always felt the mod’s of the Surf’s Up forum have known that ASD was a Ponzi, but had to keep this mantra going it was legal hoping it would keep them out of the crosshairs of law enforcement.

Now that Andy has filed claiming the government was duty bound to tell him he was operating illegally when he didn’t, uh-hum, “know” it; I think they believe it will also give them cover. Guess they conveniently forgot ‘ignorance of the law’ is no defense. The Pro Advocates Group is going to be one very busy group in the coming months for all the new pro se fillings that will be coming their way.

By the way, the curtain for Scene 2 of ACT III is about to rise; but still a minute or two to grab that Big Drink and Popcorn.

  3. Hi Entertained,

Entertained: The post regarding AVG was very interesting. Contemptible doesn’t even begin to describe it. In the August forfeiture complaint, prosecutors told the story of previous autosurf prosecutions.

And they told the story of the e-Gold prosecution, pointing out that ASD once used e-Gold, but switched after the headlines hit.

There is evidence Bowdoin was involved in CEP, and assertions that he told at least two different stories about his involvement in 12DP.

Bowdoin got creamed at the evidentiary hearing in the fall. The judge issued her ruling that ASD had not demonstrated it was operating legally and not a Ponzi scheme in November.

One month later, in December, a second forfeiture complaint against assets tied to ASD was filed — this one referencing illegal purchases by Bowdoin family members.

And still they go ahead with the AVG launch.

Nearly six hours have passed since the Surf’s Up post referenced above was entered, and it continues to go unanswered . . .

    This is curious indeed, Entertained.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. One some days, one really is called upon to suspend his or her disbelief. This is one of those days.

    Patrick

  4. Hi Lynn,

Lynndel Edgington: Now that Andy has filed claiming the government was duty bound to tell him he was operating illegally when he didn’t, uh-hum, “know” it; I think they believe it will also give them cover. I do think the Pro Advocate Group tie betrays a lot of concern on the parts of some insiders. To position Bowdoin’s recent filings as something to celebrate is so far out there that it reads like fiction.

And, like you, I suspect there is a long-range ASD/AVG plan involving Pro Advocate Group.

That’s not necessarily to say I believe the plan will move forward unabated.

    Thanks for your comments, Lynn.

    Patrick

  5. Could someone tell me which thread this post was in? I can’t find it over there. Maybe it disappeared!

  6. ….it did…..

  7. Well the AVGA group are going to hold a seminar in Paradise on May 1 & 2. Yep they are holding it offshore in the Bahamas. Going to learn how to hide money from Uncle Sam, defer your income, and of course investing in a very profitable offshore mutual fund, according to the hype.

Now maybe I am missing something here, but weren’t these the same people who were pleading poverty from the demise of their great ASD business and its incredible advertising revenue it generated; and without that money they were all going to be homeless? Hmmmmm now magically they can afford to travel to the Bahamas, and spend two glorious days in Paradise. Amazing.

  8. What a nerve of Andy Bowdoin showing up in a video posing as a “victim” and at the same pitching a new gig ? What gives ? What he should have done is announce that A L L funds will be returned to the membership, as in “check is in the mail folks”. This man has whether conscience, nor integrity. What a lot of class he has, too bad its low !
